Brown Bear Hunt in Alaska

Bob Cusack is one of Alaska's premier master hunting guides specializing in brown and grizzly bears of exceptional size. Accessing an exclusive hunting area of 92,000 acres with no other hunters, in 35 years of hunting Bob has delivered a 98% success rate. His bears have averaged 9 ½ to 10 ½ feet in size over the last ten years. Hunters are based at Cusack's Lodge on Lake Iliamna and boat or fly out from there in search of bear. Satelite cabins or tent camps are used when needed. If you're looking for an Alaskan bear trophy this may be your best opportunity. Bear season alternates between spring and fall. In even years it occurs May 10 - May 25, in odd years September 20 - October 22. Hunting and fishing guests do not overlap. Because of these alternating seasons there can be as little as eight months between seasons or as many as sixteen. Space is limited and bookings should be made well in advance.

Cusack’s Alaska Lodge was designed to provide comfort, camaraderie, and safety in the rugged wilderness. It is a modern self-contained and well furnished structure designed to accommodate six guests and a complete service staff. Each double-occupancy bedroom and adjoining shower/bath is maintained daily. Basic conveniences are hot and cold running water, electricity supplied by a generator housed away from the lodge, completely modern private bath facilities, freezer space for fish storage and a large sauna house located near the lodge and lake. The lounge and dining area are situated with a magnificent view overlooking Lake Iliamna which compels you to relax, enjoy and soak in the atmosphere. Or perhaps you want to tie up a few new patterns in our fly tying room, or enjoy a smoke and a cocktail on our cigar porch. Our delicious family-style meals of local fish, seafood, steaks, and Lula’s specialties are legendary. You will not lose weight on this trip! Lunches are provided for daily fly-outs and our experienced guides will prepare shore lunches of fresh fish whenever possible.
