Asiatic Buffalo Hunting in the Northern Territory

We offer the best Buffalo hunting for "BIG" trophy Buffalo in Australia today.

These Buffalo are much bigger in body size than African Buffalo, tougher than their African cousins and are notoriously difficult to kill, even with the largest big game calibre rifles.

Our new Buffalo hunting area is very remote. There are no roads into the area for most of the year. There are no people, no fences, no cattle or any commercial enterprises in the area. Only us…and the Buffalo.

Our current Buffalo hunting area offers our clients the best quality Buffalo hunting opportunity, that we have had in Australia for the past 23 years.

This area is full of big bulls, dying of old age with huge horns and large bulky bodies. There has been no commercial harvesting or government-sponsored eradication in this area.

The best time to hunt Buffalo is usually during the months of June, July and August. These are the coolest, normally dry winter months.

Depending on how long the wet season (pouring rains, etc.) lasts, hunting can be very good from early May and excellent hunting can be had through the hot dry months of September and October. However, we recommend the coolest dry winter months, June, July and August for the most comfortable hunting conditions.

Hunting Method

In our new remote area, at the end of each dry season we park several 4WD Toyota hunting cars in strategic locations. Following the wet season we are able to access these Toyotas by first driving from our camp to each local waterway, billabong or lake, and then by boating across the water ways to the waiting Toyotas.

We conduct our Buffalo hunts by driving in our especially equipped hunting 4WD Toyotas, short distances along the edges of the waterways and glassing the grazing Buffalo herds directly from the Toyotas. When a prospective trophy bull is located, we commence the stalk on foot.

Travel Method, Buffalo Camp and Facilities Available

Our hunters first arrive in Gove, Northern Territory, which is situated on the coast in the far north of central Australia. We arrange to charter our clients in our own aircraft, on a 1-hour flight out to the Buffalo camp, which is situated close to the coast in Far East Arnhem Land.

The hunters are met by their guide in a 4WD Toyota, then taken on a 30-minute drive to the main hunting camp. This camp is situated on the shore of a non-tidal lagoon (billabong), which is fed year round from a permanent underground limestone spring.

We have established several remote-hunting locations. At each of these locations there is a hunting 4WD Toyota available. Some of these locations are accessible from the main camp by boat and some by 4WD and then by boat.

This camp is a fully equipped tent camp with unlimited hot water showers, laundry facilities, home style flush toilet, 240V electricity, refrigerators and deep freezers. All tents have fully sewn in floors, insect screens, clean bed linen and the best quality, delicious food available in any hunting camp today…
